The interdisciplinary minor
in Islamic Studies allows students
to develop an understanding
of Islamic culture, history,
philosophy, and religion, and
to appreciate the role of Islamic
traditions in the development
of world civilizations.
UNC Charlotte's exciting new
program harnesses the talents
of faculty from the College
of Arts and Sciences. Currently
UNC Charlotte is the only university
in the Carolinas outside the
Raleigh-Durham area to offer
Arabic language instruction,
which may be counted toward
the minor's required 18 hours.
In addition to 9 hours in designated
core courses, students design
a program of study in consultation
with their advisors to reflect
their academic interests. Study
abroad opportunities are encouraged. |
