James Tabor  (Ph.D., Chicago) is chair of the Department of Religious Studies.  Before coming to UNC Charlotte in 1989, he taught at the University of Notre Dame and the College of William and Mary.  Dr. Tabor is the co-author, with Eugene Gallagher, of Why Waco? (University of California Press, 1995).  His latest book, The Jesus Dynasty, was published in April 2006 from Simon & Schuster and featured on ABC's  Nightline & 20/20 as well as the cover of USNews&WorldReport.
